The trial against two espionage suspects, Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi, begins

The trial against Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi, who are accused of espionage, has concluded at the Basic Court in Pristina.
Judge Rrahman Beqiri, at the beginning of the session, said that they were informed that Bedri Shabani had received medical treatment, and that he was not in good health.
Meanwhile, the accused Bedri Shabani requested that the hearing not be held due to his health condition.
"I have received medical treatment, but I am not in good health. I had asked you not to hold this session. I am under the supervision of doctors. My health condition is difficult, and I am under the supervision of doctors every 30 minutes," he stated.
After this, the panel decided to go into consultations.
After consultations, it was announced that the session would be temporarily suspended until 10:30.
The hearing continued again, while Bedri Shabani's lawyer, Besnik Berisha, requested that the hearing be held without the presence of the media, his request was approved by the trial panel.
Considering the circumstances, it was decided to close this session and continue on November 20.
The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) on February 19, 2025 filed an indictment against Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi, charging them with having collected and sent information and documents to the Serbian BIA regarding the Kosovo Liberation Army, its superiors and members, the Police, the Kosovo Intelligence Agency and the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, as well as specific events and objects, including a massacre.
Through these actions, the SPRK says that the aim was to cause a widespread interethnic conflict in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, to create a false narrative linking the KLA Military Hospital to alleged organ trafficking, and to cast doubt on the truth of the massacre. /telegraph/
