The Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan announces that during the period 5–11 December 2025, the Regional Road Traffic Unit and police stations have imposed a total of 1,418 fines as part of measures to increase traffic safety.
During this period, a total of 19 accidents with material damage and 14 accidents with injuries were investigated.
The police have also issued 20 fines for using a phone while driving, 28 fines for unauthorized vehicle modifications, such as dark foils, and have detained 45 motor vehicle drivers for violating traffic rules.
The Gjilan Regional Police Directorate appeals to all drivers to respect road traffic rules: reduce speed, do not use the phone while driving, wear a seat belt and be careful of pedestrians.
The police emphasize that road safety is a shared responsibility and respecting the rules helps reduce accidents and save lives. /Telegrafi/
