Tourist wins lottery ticket worth over $3 million during visit to Chicago

A tourist visiting Chicago won a $3,188,104 prize from the Illinois Lottery.

A visitor, known by the nickname "Traveling Treasure," told Illinois Lottery officials that he had come to Chicago to visit the most popular tourist attractions.

"I've been to Chicago before, but I didn't get to go to the tourist spots, so this time I made sure to see as much as possible. I visited the Skydeck at Willis Tower, checked out some filming locations from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and of course, I couldn't leave without seeing The Bean," he said.

The man said that during the trip he stopped at Komal Wine and Liquor on North Cumberland Avenue and purchased a FastPlay Ultimate Diamond Jackpot game ticket.

"One evening, before returning to the hotel, I stopped at a small shop nearby. I noticed that the Ultimate Diamond Jackpot game had a huge prize at that time, so I decided to try my luck and bought a ticket. When I got back to the hotel and checked, I saw that I had won the big prize – over $3 million! It was a moment of total shock and amazement, and I just froze," the lucky man added.

The “Traveling Treasure” said he already has big plans: “I’ve been wanting to buy a house for a while, but with the high real estate prices these days, it just hasn’t been possible. Then, I recently found out that my landlord is selling the apartment I’ve been renting, so I have to move out. I feel incredibly lucky – this win couldn’t have come at a better time.” /Telegraph/
