Today in Skopje there will be a protest against the trial of former KLA fighters in The Hague.

The protest called by OVL-UCK is expected to start at 13:00 PM at "Skënderbe" Square in Skopje.

It has been supported by many political figures, starting with the chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, who has called for massive participation in today's rally.

"On December 13, at 13:00 PM, at Skanderbeg Square in Skopje, we unite for a clear purpose: the demand for justice and the rejection of the fabricated accusations of Serbia and Russia. We stand out responsibly, to honor the sacrifice and to defend the truth of our history," he said.

Unlike Ahmeti, Gazmend Syla from OVL-UCK said that their participation poses a serious risk of arrest by North Macedonian authorities, due to Europol lists sent by Serbia.

"We prefer our KLA fighters not to take that path, because we have no guarantee. Even if we ask for it, it is impossible for the state of North Macedonia to provide guarantees when you are on Europol's lists," Syla declared.

We recall that the protest is peaceful, so the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, said that although he does not support the protest, he will ensure the security and peaceful conduct of the rally.
