The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, Department for Serious Crimes, has notified the public of an action conducted today within the framework of a criminal investigation, by order of the competent Court and based on the written request of the State Prosecutor.

So far, four people have been arrested: two officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the criminal offense of “Abuse of official position or authority” (Article 414 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo), who are suspected of having issued certificates for weapons permits without undergoing legal procedures, and two other people for the criminal offense of “Accepting a bribe in the private sector” (Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo).

The prosecution announces that important documents were seized during the search warrant, which will serve to further develop the investigation.

"The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, in full cooperation and coordination with the Kosovo Police, remains committed to combating the commission of criminal offenses and the rule of law," the announcement states.

The State Prosecutor will submit, within the legal deadline, a request for the imposition of security measures against the defendants, while the investigations into this matter continue. /Telegraph/
