Time magazine provokes with new cover, puts Musk on the president's desk - Trump's reaction comes

In a provocative move that may be intended to anger President Donald Trump, Time magazine has featured Elon Musk at the Oval Office desk.

The publication, known for its historically significant covers, comes after Trump has given Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency extraordinary power to crush the federal workforce — power that has been thwarted, at least to some extent, in recent days by several lawsuits.

The cover, which shows Musk with coffee in hand, placed between the presidential desk and the American and presidential flags, is clearly decorated with a red background.

It is reported that this marks the second time in recent months that Musk has appeared on the cover of Time, writes CNN, the Telegraph reports.

The two covers suggest that it is Musk, not Trump, who is the real power behind that table.

This could be the case, although Time has not commented on this speculation.

And when Trump was asked about the Time cover, he said: "Does Time magazine still exist? I didn't even know that."

Otherwise, Trump has been chosen as Time's "Person of the Year" twice, most recently in 2024, and has already appeared on its cover since returning to the presidency. /Telegraph/
