Three murders within 24 hours in Kosovo, Morina: Institutions must act urgently

In less than 24 hours, three tragic murders have occurred in Kosovo. Initially, a 19-year-old shot and killed his peer on Sunday evening in Vushtrri. Meanwhile, at noon on Monday, it was reported that a woman had died and a man had committed suicide in Stanoc, Vushtrri.

Refki Morina, a former police lieutenant colonel, said that the fact that three tragic deaths from murders have occurred is worrying and should also be a concern for "law and order institutions."

Morina said that some of the ways to minimize such tragic events should be to greatly strengthen punishments and sanctions against perpetrators of such criminal offenses.

"The last three murders are worrying. And it should also be a concern for the public and the country's institutions. Institutions should take concrete steps to minimize such acts, especially murders. Since we are dealing with the loss of human life."

He says that to minimize criminal offenses, it is good to have Kosovo Police patrols everywhere, in every space, so that people who carry illegal weapons are unsafe.

"We also need to educate the new generations, especially the damage caused by weapons. Also, judicial institutions should constantly strengthen the punishments and sanctions for the perpetrators of these criminal offenses. We need the involvement of judicial institutions, police, courts, but also educational institutions to invest in the new generations, since carrying weapons is dangerous," said Morina.
