Thousands of Californians are being forced to evacuate by dangerous wildfires

A "dangerously fast-moving" California wildfire fueled by high winds has spread, destroying dozens of homes and forcing thousands to evacuate.

"This fire is moving at a dangerous rate," said Ventura County Fire Chief Dustin Gardner.

"Brushes are burning, grass is burning, fences are burning, agricultural fields are burning and structures are burning," he added.


The spreading fire prompted evacuation orders for more than 10,000 people as it threatened 3,500 structures in suburban communities, farms and agricultural areas around Camarillo, according to a statement from Gov. Gavin Newsom. sky news, the Telegraph reports.

"We are continuing to provide state and local firefighters with the support they need to save lives and property from this aggressive wildfire," Newsom said.

As reported, entire neighborhoods of the country have been covered by smoke, which has limited visibility for citizens and firefighters.
