Thomas Muller rejected Serie A club's offer

Fiorentina have reportedly made an attempt to sign Thomas Muller as a free agent at the end of the season, but the Bayern Munich striker has rejected their proposal.

The 35-year-old has recently become available on the market after his club announced they would not be renewing his contract, meaning his 17-season stay at the Allianz Arena will come to an end.

Given his class and winning experience, Muller is expected to attract interest from many European clubs and it appears Fiorentina moved quickly to try and secure his services.

However, while the journalist Sports picture, Christian Falk confirmed that Viola had offered Muller a move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi at the end of the season, he also added that the player is 'not interested' in joining Serie A.

Muller recently scored in the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Inter at the Allianz Arena, although his temporary equaliser was quickly followed by Davide Frattesi's winning goal, which ultimately led to the Nerazzurri's 4-3 aggregate victory after the return leg at the San Siro. /Telegraph/
