"This year, Real Madrid can't beat us, that's proven" - Yamal hits back at the kings

Lamine Yamal had a post-match message for Real Madrid after Barcelona secured the Copa del Rey title in Sevilla.

The Blaugrana have taken another step closer to a possible treble this season after Jules Kounde's extra-time strike sealed a big win in a chaotic match.

Hansi Flick now adds the Copa del Rey, the victory in the Spanish Super Cup against Los Blancos at the beginning of 2025, while the edition is still underway.

Barcelona host Inter on April 30, in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, while they have a four-point lead at the top of La Liga.

Flick's men will face Real Madrid once again this season, with a league match scheduled for May 11 that will surely decide the title.

However, despite the strength Real Madrid showed by coming back twice, Lamine Yamal believes Barcelona would win regardless of how many goals they conceded.

"If they scored one goal, it just didn't matter; if they scored two, it didn't matter either. This year, they can't beat us and that's proven," declared the great talent.

Lamine Yamal's words are backed by facts, as Flick's team has won three El Clasicos so far in 2024/25, one each in La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup and now the Copa del Rey final.

The 17-year-old scored in the first two matches, and despite not getting on the scoresheet in the last final, he provided two assists for Pedri and Ferran Torres.

The teenager still leads the La Liga assists list this season with 12 ahead of teammate Raphinha on eight.Telegraph/
