Moldova sentences three people for planning riots after training in Serbia and Bosnia

The court in Chisinau has found three people guilty of involvement in an organized criminal group, which during 2024 had planned massive violent riots in Moldova, as well as organized training abroad, specifically in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
Aliona Gotco, Ludmila Costenco and Vladimir Harcevnicov have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from four to almost five and a half years for participating in training camps during 2024.
Aliona Gotco was sentenced to four years and one month in prison, Ludmila Costenco to four years in prison, and Vladimir Harcevnicov to five years and four months in prison.
The defendants, Aliona Gotco, Ludmila Costenco and Vladimir Harcevnicov, first appeared before the court in the spring of 2025. Although they pleaded not guilty to the indictment, which charged them with preparing unrest in the state, they all admitted to having stayed in a camp in Bosnia and Herzegovina, birn reports.

The defendants also stated that they frequently traveled to Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the training camps were located. The evidence also describes training in drone management.
Training was initially conducted through simulations, and then with practical flight control of the aircraft. The drones, in addition to standard equipment, were equipped with mechanisms for releasing objects, such as smoke or shock bombs.
According to testimonies, the instructor responsible for the drones was a Russian citizen and camp participants called him "Viktor", but his full identity was never revealed.
According to a list from the Moldovan intelligence service, Russian mercenaries, who were previously linked to the Wagner Group and to actions in Africa, including the murder of journalists, have also played a role in training Moldovan citizens.
The convicts were not present at the announcement of the verdict. /Telegraph/
