Investigators from the Kosovo Police Inspectorate (KPI) have launched initial investigative actions regarding an incident that occurred in the city of Prizren, in which two police officers were involved.

IPK spokesperson Arbër Beka told Telegrafi that based on investigative actions, it is suspected that police officers were involved in a dispute with each other that allegedly arose after an argument during working hours.

"Following these actions, the PIK has recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension from duty of two police officers of the Prizren Police Station. Investigations regarding this case are being conducted by the Investigations Department at the PIK with the aim of fully clarifying all circumstances and actions of the police officers involved," he stated.

Beka further added that the recommendation for temporary suspension of police officers was undertaken with the aim of not influencing the investigative process and guaranteeing the independence and impartiality of the investigations.

"The Kosovo Police Inspectorate remains committed to taking actions towards strengthening police integrity, emphasizing that such behaviors are unacceptable and contradict the standards of professionalism required of a police officer," he said, among other things. /Telegrafi/
