The Central Election Commission (CEC) has decided to conduct a full recount of votes in 10 municipalities in Kosovo, following findings of discrepancies between the votes counted and those recorded on the ballots during the December 28 elections.

According to the CEC, the 100 percent recount will be carried out in the municipalities of: Dragash, Kaçanik, Leposaviq, Prizren, Skenderaj, Shtime, Ferizaj, Vushtrri, Mamushë and Ranillug.

The decision was made following a report by the CEC Secretariat, which, during the control of video recordings at the Municipal Counting Centers, had identified irregularities and obvious discrepancies in the counting of candidates' votes.

The CEC has announced that the initial verification was carried out in 2 percent of polling stations nationwide, where out of 52 polling stations checked, inconsistencies between the counted results and the ballots were found in 33 of them.

The Chairman of the CEC, Kreshnik Radoniqi, has warned that if manipulations with the candidates' votes are confirmed after the recount, the cases will be sent to the competent bodies, including the members of the counting teams.

The recount process will take place at the Counting and Results Center and begins today, January 13, at 18:00 PM./Telegrafi.
