There is no turning back - Real Madrid is starting a revolution in the squad: Three players will be sold

Real Madrid are reportedly set to offload Aurelien Tchouameni, Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vazquez, according to a report from Fichajes.net.

This comes after Los Blancos suffered a 5-2 defeat against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday, January 12, and against Celta Vigo they did no better, as they needed extra time to advance to the Copa del Rey.

Tchouameni has struggled as a makeshift centre-back for Madrid this season. The Frenchman has also been responsible for several errors that have led Madrid to concede in defence.

Thus, Madrid are said to be willing to sell him as he has been linked with Liverpool in recent months.

Tchouameni has made 23 appearances for Madrid this season and he is contracted at the Bernabeu until June 2028.

Given his transfer value of €80 million according to Transfermarkt, the proceeds from his potential sale could be used to sign a new midfielder.

Meanwhile, Mendy's form has declined this season as he has failed to register a goal contribution in 20 matches. On the other hand, his contract at the Bernabeu is set to expire in the summer.

Fichajes.net reports that the Frenchman has asked for a salary increase. However, Madrid are reportedly unwilling to meet his request. This could mean they could be willing to let him go at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Finally, Vazquez is also one of the players whose contract at the Bernabeu expires in the summer. The Spaniard's performance as a right-back has also been inconsistent.

Madrid's pursuit of Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold could also be an indication that they could offload Vazquez.

In 25 appearances, the Spaniard has scored two goals and registered three assists this season. /Telegraph/
