Wanted suspect arrested in Skenderaj after changing his last name to avoid justice

Kosovo Police have arrested a person wanted with several active court orders, during a routine check conducted on January 10, 2026, at around 18:00 PM, in Skenderaj.
According to the Police announcement, police officers stopped a vehicle with Bosnia and Herzegovina license plates, where during verification it was found that the detained person had changed his last name.
However, after detailed verifications, it was confirmed that the same person was a wanted person with three active warrants from the Basic Court in Mitrovica, as well as two letters of arrest from the Basic Court in Gjilan.
The suspect was wanted for several criminal offenses, including damage or destruction of property, human trafficking, and document forgery.
Based on the court's orders, the person was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in prison. After completing the necessary police procedures, he was sent to serve his sentence. /Telegrafi/
