The State Election Commission (SEC) today closed the voter lists for the repeat mayoral elections in the municipalities of Gostivar, Mavrovo-Rostushe, Vrapchisht and QendërZhupe. The elections will be held immediately after the New Year and Christmas holidays, on January 11, 2026.

In Gostivar, 82.870 citizens with the right to vote are registered on the voter list, of which 78.185 are permanent residents of the municipality, 4.604 are on the special list for people living abroad, while 81 people are in prison or detention.


In Mavrovo-Rostuša, 10.575 people are registered on the voter list, of which 9.622 are on the list for residents of the municipality, 951 are abroad, and 2 are in prison or detention.

In Vrapçisht, 27.279 voters are registered, of which 26.318 are residents of the municipality, 950 are abroad, and 11 are in prison or detention.

In Qendër Zhupë, the list includes 7.562 voters, of whom 6.305 are residents of the municipality, and 1.257 are abroad.
The SEC has also approved the Instruction for voting in polling stations with fewer than ten voters. There are two such in Gostivar: 0480 (7 voters) and 0154 (3 voters), and five in Mavrovo-Rostuša: 0463 (6), 0482 (5), 0484 (5), 0485 (8) and 0485 (5).

The Chairman of the SEC, Boris Kondarko, emphasized that the Municipal Election Commissions in these four municipalities should organize voting so that these persons can exercise their right to vote at the nearest polling stations.
