"The victims are here, apologize" - Osmani returns her speech to the UN: Justice and facts in the face of Serbian propaganda

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has shared on social media the video of her speech delivered to the United Nations Security Council in April 2024, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to the defense of Kosovo and opposing Serbia's propaganda.
"Justice and facts! 5 years without stopping in defense of Kosovo and against Serbian propaganda!", Osmani wrote alongside the published video.
At this important session of the Security Council, President Osmani was accompanied by four women, victims of the war in Kosovo: Elhame Muqolli, Fahrije Hoti, Vasfije Krasniqi and Shyhrete Tahiri, who represented the voices of thousands of victims of war crimes and sexual violence during the war in Kosovo.
During her speech, Osmani rejected the statements of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, describing them as untrue and propagandistic.
She had called on members of the Security Council to visit Kosovo and see its democratic progress up close.
"What Vučić declared is not true. I invite you all to visit Kosovo, to see for yourself the progress we have made and the democracy that is developing. You can decide for yourself whether you want to believe your eyes or his lies," Osmani had declared.
The President emphasized that today's Kosovo is built on the pain of the past due to the lack of justice, underlining that peace cannot be achieved without confronting the past. She called on Vučić, instead of spreading propaganda, to reflect on the role of the past regime and apologize for the crimes committed.
"The victims of that regime are here. Take some time, apologize. Show everyone if you still have a trace of humanity," Osmani said in her powerful speech at the UN. /Telegraph/
