The defense of several defendants in the Kocani tragedy case has made a number of remarks about the work of the Prosecution.

As they say, the indictment is unfounded and that incorrect information about institutional responsibility is being disseminated to the public.

The defense of the Ministry of Economy employees and market inspectors claimed that they only conducted document checks without inspection powers and that they were unable to prevent the fire at the "Puls" nightclub.

The prosecution said the evidence would show that the facility was a “death trap” due to systemic negligence and institutional errors. The dock includes 37 people, including owners, officials, inspectors and former local officials.

The trial will continue on December 23 with opening statements from the defense of defendant Aleksandar Nacev, owner of a security agency, whose case was joined to this one shortly before the trial began, as well as representatives of two legal entities.
The trial is taking place under reinforced security measures, with the presence of the defendants, relatives of the victims, the prosecution, the defense, and the public.
