The trial for the fire at the "Pulse" discotheque in Kocani continues with opening statements from the defense

The trial for the fire at the "Pulse" discotheque in Kocani, where 63 people, including children, lost their lives and over 200 others were injured, continues today at the Idrizovo court. The trial will continue with opening statements from the defense, after in the previous session, all the defendants declared that they do not feel guilty for the crimes they are accused of.
Some of them expressed condolences to the families of the victims and stressed that they understood the accusation, but did not admit guilt for "serious crimes against public safety."
In the previous session, the defense of the first accused, the owner of the disco Dejan Jovanov, the owner of the MMMM cafe Mitko Stojanov, the security guard Stojanco Dimitriev and Grozdan Milkovski, the owner of the facility, gave their opening statements. Some of the accused, in their opening statements, contested the basis of the accusation.
The lawyers stressed that their clients did not take any action that would be directly related to the tragic event and that they possessed valid documentation. They announced the presentation of evidence and witnesses who, according to them, will confirm that the accused are not responsible for the fire and that the tragedy is the result of institutional failures, not personal guilt. /Telegrafi/
