The trailer for the second season of the series "Wednesday" has been released, which broke the viewership record on Netflix

Netflix released the first trailer for the long-awaited second season of the series "Wednesday," which, upon its release in 2022, broke the streaming platform's viewership record at the time.

In the trailer, Wednesday – played by Jenna Ortega – returns for her second year at Nevermore Academy, a private school for outcasts. Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) notes that her daughter has never wanted to go back to school before.

To which Wednesday responds, “It’s like going back to the crime scene—you already know where the bodies are buried.” Later in the trailer, she notes, “I do the best I can in the dark.”

The clip also shows Wednesday reuniting with her roommate Enid (Emma Myers) and gives a glimpse of the rest of the Addams clan.

Netflix has confirmed that the first part of the second season, consisting of four episodes, will arrive on August 6. The second part of the season, consisting of another four episodes, will premiere on September 3.

In the new season of "Wednesday," a new member of the Addams Family joins the school: her younger brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), who begins his Nevermore journey.

The second season was filmed in Ireland, which is a change from the first season, which was filmed primarily in Romania.

The first season – created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton – was a shock success for the broadcaster in 2022. “Wednesday” became the most-watched English-language series in the studio’s history, with 252 million views, and spent 20 weeks in the top 10 of the “Squid of the first list” (first place on the “Squid” list). /Telegraph/
