Residents of Restelica woke up this morning shocked by the news that their neighbor, a 30-year-old man, is suspected of murdering his mother.
According to local residents, the mother and son lived alone in the house.
KosovaPress has learned that on the critical night, the victim's husband was in Montenegro for work reasons, while the other son of the family, in his 20s, lives in Germany. While KosovaPress was at the scene, the head of the family also arrived at the house, but refused to give a statement to the media.
Neighbors of the family have stated that the 30-year-old, suspected of killing his mother, had mental health problems. According to them, he had not caused any trouble in the neighborhood and only showed his problems within the family, mainly towards his mother.
Nesim Hoxha, one of the neighbors, stated that there were frequent troubles between the mother and son. According to him, the mother often left the house and went to his workshop, as the only way to get away from the difficult situation with the son, who was suffering from health problems.
"These neighbors had trouble every day, the mother would leave the house, come to our workshop, in a way she was alone in front of the sick man... It was just this mother and daughter, all the neighbors are abroad," he said.
Meanwhile, Avzir Hoxha, owner of a market located very close to the house where the murder occurred, told KosovaPress that in general, the family was well-behaved, but the 30-year-old son had mental health problems.
However, according to him, he has never caused them any trouble as a neighbor, despite frequenting his shop every day.
"The wise family, the boy had mental problems... no, he didn't do anything to anyone, it's just that this tragedy has surprised us all... it was difficult when we found out... they came every morning, every evening... He had mental problems, we all understood," he said.
FB, who is suspected of killing his mother in the early hours of this morning, has been arrested and detained for 48 hours. Meanwhile, by order of the prosecutor, the victim's body has been sent for autopsy to the IML.
FB was previously known to law enforcement and justice authorities as he had been charged with domestic violence in two cases in 2021 and one case in 2023, and had also had convictions.
