The testimony of Michael Durkee, former advisor to General Wesley Clark, continues in The Hague

At the Specialist Chambers in The Hague today, the sixth defense witness, Michael Durkee, will continue his testimony.
Durkee has served as a political advisor to the Supreme Allied Commanders of NATO in Europe, including General Wesley Clark.
During his testimony yesterday, Durkee said he had seen no evidence that the acts of violence in Kosovo during the summer of 1999 were directed by the KLA.
"There were cases where there were suspicions of the involvement of the KLA leadership. I don't recall seeing any concrete evidence personally that these were acts of violence directed by the KLA. I reported whatever I heard to General Clark," Durkee stated.
He praised Hashim Thaçi more as a political leader than a military commander, arguing that conversations with him had been more about political aspirations than military objectives.
"I think that was based on what I remember: the type of conversation that took place, spoke almost entirely about political aspirations rather than military objectives ... and in that sense he was a political leader rather than a military commander," Durkee said.
We remind you that the phase of defense witness testimony will conclude next week with the testimony of General Wesley Clark. /Telegraph/
