The Special Prosecution requests the court to order Kurti to appear to testify at the prosecution.

The Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) has submitted to the Court a request for the country's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to appear before the SPRK to give testimony as a witness regarding the state reserves case.

It is learned that the request to order the witness to appear at the Prosecutor's Office to give testimony was submitted last week.

If the Court approves this request of the SPRK, witness Albin Kurti must voluntarily appear to give testimony.

Otherwise, according to the law, he is fined and after that the prime minister can even be detained.

Once this order is issued, Kurti must voluntarily appear at the SPRK facilities, but if he does not act as requested, the Court's order is also submitted to the Police, who must then execute the order to bring him in to give testimony.

It is learned that if the Court decides on this request, procedural actions will begin in the first week of March.

"The request was submitted last week, it was submitted as a request. The Court was supposed to issue it within these days. The request is for ordering the witness to appear at the prosecutor's office. If he does not appear, there is a possibility of imposing a fine on him and after the fine, he will be detained. Albin Kurti must come himself. If he does not comply with the Court's decision, that order is also sent to the Police, then the Police will receive and execute the decision," sources said. The country's Prime Minister has been invited as a witness by the Prosecution to give his version of events regarding the state reserves case, in which businessman Ridvan Muharremi and officials of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Irfan Lipovica and Hafiz Gara, are suspects.

In this case, the Prosecutor's Office also suspects the head of this ministry, Rozeta Hajdari, who was interviewed by the Prosecutor's Office as a suspect.

So far, the Prosecution has invited Prime Minister Albin Kurti three times in a row, but he has not responded positively to any of the invitations.

The portal had reported when the third call was made to Kurti about a week before New Year's.
