The Kosovo Special Prosecution Office has confirmed today's raids at the Ministry of Agriculture.
Through a written response to the Telegraph, the Special Prosecution Office said that this raid was carried out with the aim of verifying several claims regarding the renovation of the facility used by AAK and which is now under the management of the ministry.
"I inform you that the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, in support of Article 83, paragraph 1 of the Code no. 08/L-032 of the Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Kosovo, in order to verify the allegations or suspicions raised in the public opinion regarding the actions of some public officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, regarding the renovation of the facility used by AAK, now under the management of the Ministry, has authorized the Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK) in Pristina, to carry out investigative actions in the collection and provision of evidence to clarify the circumstances of the case," the Special Prosecution's response states.
The prosecution has emphasized that public officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development are suspected of having committed the following criminal offenses through their actions: "Abuse of official position", under Article 414 of the Criminal Code; "Abuse and fraud in public procurement", under Article 415 of the Criminal Code and "Forgery of documents", under Article 390 of the Criminal Code. /Telegraph/
