Representatives of the Shkodra Mufti's Office and the municipality clashed today regarding a sign placed by the Mufti's Office in the city center.
The municipal police removed that sign, claiming that it was placed without permission and was occupying public space.
On the sign opposite the works for the 35-story tower, a sign read: "Whoever unjustly steals even a palm of land on the Day of Judgment, Allah will hang seven pairs of earth around his neck."
The mufti claims that the land where the 35-story tower at the "Turizmi" hotel is being built is owned by her, the Orthodox Church, and the Laçej family, and has called it a robbery that is being committed against her.
The mufti also placed the sign in front of the tower, while the Shkodra municipality immediately intervened, making it possible to remove it.
Representatives of the Mufti's Office stated that this sign has been there for many years, displaying various sayings of the Prophet Muhammad or even hadiths such as the latter's about land grabbing, but the sign was removed despite the Mufti's opposition.
