The Kosovo Police, namely the Regional Police Directorate in Gjakova, has announced that a large-scale search operation is continuing following the report of the disappearance of Alush (Vesel) Kastrati, who was last seen on 07.03.2026 in the village of Zatriq - Municipality of Rahovec.

The police emphasize that immediately after the report, the relevant structures of the Kosovo Police were activated to take the necessary actions towards finding him.


"As part of this operation, police units have gone into the field and conducted intensive patrols in an expanded search perimeter, including mountainous areas and other surrounding areas.

The following units were engaged in the search operation: the Kosovo Police patrol units, the Rapid Response Unit, the aerial monitoring drone unit, the K9 unit with search dogs. The KSF Search and Rescue Unit, firefighters, the Kosovo Search and Rescue Association, as well as volunteer citizens who provided support on the ground, are also involved in this operation," the announcement states.

It is further announced that the mayor of Rahovec has also offered support to this initiative, contributing to the coordination of local institutions and the community, to assist in efforts to find the missing person.

"The Kosovo Police expresses its gratitude and thanks to all institutions, professional teams and volunteer citizens who have been engaged and continue to contribute to this search operation, showing solidarity and cooperation in the efforts to find the missing person," the announcement states. /Telegrafi/
