The President of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSCC), Ekaterina Trendafilova, has decided that Haxhi Shala's sentence will not be reduced or modified after serving two-thirds of his sentence.

This is announced in NOTIFICATION for the media of the Specialized Chambers.


“In reaching this decision, the President consulted with the judges of the sentencing panels, as provided for in Article 51(2) of the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (“the Law”), and took into account the factors set out in Rule 196(3) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence.

The Chairperson specifically noted that Shala had not expressed remorse and stated that she would consider a possible modification of Shala's sentence after two months," the announcement states.

It is further stated that the procedures regarding the reduction, modification or amendment of sentences, as provided for in Article 51 (2) of the Law, are individual procedures. /Telegrafi/
