The Rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Riho Terras, met yesterday with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.

He announced that he had talked with Osmani about the latest political developments in the country and preparations for the general elections announced for December 28.

During the meeting, Terras stressed the need for the European Union to review its approach towards Kosovo, calling for the immediate lifting of measures previously imposed by the EU.

According to him, the normalization of relations and support for democratic institutions in Kosovo require constructive engagement on the part of the European Union, while the current measures, as he put it, "do not serve stability and progress."

The meeting comes at a dynamic political period in Kosovo, as the country prepares for new elections and aims to advance the European integration process.

Otherwise, the measures were imposed in June 2023, in response to the escalation of tensions in northern Kosovo. /Telegraph/
