In the continuation of the trial of KLA leaders, the Prosecutor's Office of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague has presented a map reflecting 437 incidents related to war crimes and crimes against humanity, which are suspected of being committed during and immediately after the Kosovo conflict in 1998–1999.

Prosecutor James Pace also spoke about the detention site in Jabllanicë, which he said was located near the KLA Headquarters, near Lahi Brahimaj's house.

He added that the documentary evidence points to and confirms the testimonies of witnesses about the crimes for which charges have been filed.

Meanwhile, Specialist Chambers Prosecutor Clare Lawson emphasized that these crimes were not simply committed by isolated individuals, but by subordinates of the accused, who actively contributed and acted with a clear intent to carry out unlawful acts.

She added that responsibility does not only focus on leaders, but also on the command structure they have led.

Lawson said the incidents include persecution, killings, torture and ill-treatment in KLA-controlled camps, involving dozens of victims who were associated with various ethnic communities, including Serbs, Roma and former members of local political parties.

"Many of the actions were carried out under the leadership and authorization of the defendants, with a clear plan and a structured strategy to achieve their goals," the prosecutor said.

After an intensive session during the morning, the Specialist Chambers are currently on a lunch break, while the afternoon is expected to continue with new evidence and closing arguments from the prosecution.

This trial has entered its final phase, where the main evidence and testimonies are being reviewed, and after the prosecution, the defense teams will have the floor, followed by the accused.

The hearing is part of a process that began on April 3, 2023 and has attracted great national and international attention for the importance of addressing suspected war crimes in Kosovo. /Telegrafi/
