The Prosecution in Ferizaj files indictment against two people for accepting bribes

The Basic Prosecution Office in Ferizaj has filed an indictment against two persons with the initials BB and EK, on suspicion that they have co-perpetrated the criminal offense of "Accepting a bribe in the private sector".
According to the Prosecution's announcement, the incident occurred on February 25, 2026, at around 14:30 PM, on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" street in Ferizaj, respectively at the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company in Kosovo - KEDS.
According to the indictment, defendant BB, in his capacity as coordinator of the control unit in the Department for electricity losses, and defendant EK, in his capacity as acting coordinator for new connections, during the exercise of their duties are suspected of having directly requested 400 euros from the injured party with the initials AH.
The prosecution announces that the amount of money was requested in order to expedite the procedure for installing an electric meter at the injured party's premises in the village of Sojevë.
According to the indictment, the defendants informed the injured party that, if the requested amount was not paid, the installation of the electric meter would be delayed for a period of five to six months.
The Prosecution announces that, after implementing special investigative measures, the defendants were caught and arrested in flagrante delicto by the Kosovo Police.
With these actions, according to the prosecution, they are suspected of having co-perpetrated the criminal offense of "Accepting a bribe in the private sector", under Article 309, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
The prosecutor in the case has proposed to the Court that, after the judicial review and the administration of evidence, the defendants be found guilty and sentenced according to the law. /Telegrafi/
