The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova, Department for Serious Crimes, has filed a request for a 30-day detention measure against the defendant with the initials AI, who is suspected of the double murder that occurred on November 6 in the village of Golluboc, Municipality of Malisheva.
In the request submitted to the Basic Court of Gjakova, the Prosecution emphasizes that there is a well-founded suspicion that the defendant AI, in family circumstances, deprived the lives of his two brothers DM and NM, who are his wife's brothers.
According to initial investigations, the incident occurred at around 11:25, when the defendant went to his wife's family home to pick her up and the children, who were there for their father's funeral.
During the moment of departure, after an argument, the suspect shot several times with a TT pistol, first at DM and then at NM, leaving both dead on the spot.
After the crime, the defendant threw down the weapon and fled the scene, while the victims were taken to the Kijevo QKMF without signs of life.
The Prosecution announces that AI was arrested the next day and that a well-founded suspicion has been raised against him for committing the criminal offenses of "Aggravated Murder" under Article 173 paragraph 1 subparagraph 1.11 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as for "Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons" under Article 366 paragraph 1 of the same Code.
Currently, by decision of the State Prosecutor, the defendant is under a 48-hour detention measure, while the court is expected to decide on the detention request. /Telegraph/
