Prosecution: Former state attorney, Fehmi Stafa, was arrested after accepting a bribe of 50 thousand euros to influence a judge

The Public Prosecution Office has issued a notice of arrest for former state attorney, Fehmi Stafa.
According to the Prosecution, the suspect Fehmi Stafa accepted a bribe of 50 thousand euros to influence a judge.

"Police officers, upon the order of the Public Prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecution Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, arrested FS for committing the criminal offense - Accepting a reward for unlawful influence. In the period from October to 13.12.2025, the suspect accepted a total amount of 50.000 euros to mediate and use his real influence to intervene with a judge at the Skopje Court of Appeal and through bribery to the judge to influence an official action to be carried out that should not have been carried out.
Initially, the suspect had requested 100.000 euros to influence the lifting of the detention measure imposed on a person who is elusive to the prosecution authorities and against whom the Public Prosecution Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption is conducting another procedure for criminal offenses against public finances, payments and the economy.
On 06.10.2025, he accepted part of the requested amount, specifically 30.000 euros, which was handed over to him by the fugitive's sister. On 13.12.2025, he directly requested and accepted another 20.000 euros as part of the bribe he had requested to give to the judge.
"Immediately after receiving the money, the suspect was arrested and the money was found on him," the Public Prosecution Office says.
