The proposal to dismiss the Chief Prosecutor, Ljubco Kocevski, has been submitted to the Assembly. The Assembly has announced that it will provide additional information regarding the further procedure.
The process for Kocevski's dismissal, which was interrupted after the tragedy in Kocani and temporarily suspended during the election period, has resumed with a decision by the Government.
As stated by the Government Spokesperson, Marija Miteva, the dismissal is proposed due to serious professional errors in the management of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which, according to her, have led to a violation of the efficiency and functionality of the Prosecutor's Office.
As a result of the violations committed, during the past period, the weakening of the functionality of the Public Prosecution Office has been evidenced and the integrity of the institution has been seriously violated.
