With heating wood prices rising, Tetovo citizens are looking for heating alternatives

Prices for a cubic meter of wood in Tetovo have risen so high that citizens have looked for other ways to heat their homes during the winter cold.
Those interviewed by TVM2 say that due to the high prices of wood, they have been forced to heat their homes with electricity or pellets. But even these prices are unaffordable compared to the standard of living in our country, say the citizens.
"We bought it, it's very expensive, it's 100 euros to get home. 80 euros there, 20 euros for the Cham and the Prem, 100 euros. Our pensions are 300 euros," said a citizen.
"No, we don't buy them, we have our own. As you know, everything with knowledge is expensive, based on salaries and pensions, they are very expensive. We don't advertise this or that, but they are expensive," declared a resident of Tetovo, the citizen emphasized.
"I haven't been supplied with wood because of poverty and poverty. 85 euros is a cubic meter of wood," said another resident, the citizen said.
The managers of several wood warehouses in Tetovo did not want to speak on camera because most of them are not registered as enterprises for this activity.
On the other hand, for one cubic meter of wood on state-owned properties, residents of the Tetovo highlands must pay around 1140 denars, while residents who are outside the national park and want to be supplied with wood must pay 2143 denars per cubic meter of wood, not counting other expenses.
But another concern is that in Tetovo, pollution increases during the winter period as some citizens burn other things such as furniture waste and in some cases even plastic and tire waste.
And this means that Tetovo has polluted air almost most of the winter. /rtvm2
