The president of the United Arab Emirates has made his first public comments since the start of the Iran war.

"We will fulfill our duty to our country, our people and our residents who are also part of our family," he declared.

Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan insisted that "all is well" in the country and thanked the armed forces for "the vital role they are playing and for their extraordinary service" during the war.

"The United Arab Emirates is attractive; the United Arab Emirates is beautiful, the United Arab Emirates is a model," he continued.

"Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of the United Arab Emirates," the president added.

"The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh - we are not easy prey," he concluded. /Telegraph/
