The Presidency reacts to Nagavci: Lie, Osman was not offered signatures from LVV for re-election

The Kosovo Presidency has denied that the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) has offered support to President Vjosa Osmani to run for a second term, even providing her with the necessary signatures for the race.
The president's chief of staff, Learta Hollaj, called the statement of the head of the LVV Parliamentary Group, Arbërie Nagavci, who had said that her party had offered Osman the necessary 30 signatures, but she had rejected the opportunity, a "lie."
“President Osmani denies that she has been offered signatures and support from the Vetëvendosje Movement for re-election as president of Kosovo,” Hollaj wrote on Facebook.
On the other hand, Nagavci said that LVV has a sufficient number of MPs to offer support to the two candidates, and that the party is ready to provide signatures to other parliamentary entities to secure the race. She emphasized that this is done to avoid situations similar to 2025, when the Assembly had to go to repeated elections.
Previously, Prime Minister Albin Kurti's LVV had proposed Glauk Konjufca, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as a candidate for president of Kosovo.
Konjufca remains the only candidate proposed so far, as the constitutional deadline for electing the president approaches.
The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has emphasized that in order to call a session to elect the president, at least two candidates with the necessary signatures are needed.
"Until we have at least two candidates who have secured 30 signatures for the presidential race, I cannot call the session to elect the president," Haxhiu said./Telegrafi.
