The Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which landed on the new runway 06R/24L, deviated from the taxiway and ended up on soft terrain moments after touching down.

The closure of one of the main runways during busy operating hours has caused significant delays, with some aircraft forced to divert or repeat landing procedures.
Emergency and technical teams from the airport were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Turkish authorities have announced that the runway will remain closed until the rescue operation and disposal of the aircraft are completed.
