The Mayor of Obiliq Municipality, Xhafer Gashi, hosted today a meeting with the pilots of the "Kastrioti Eagles" Aeronautical Club, who proudly represented Kosovo at the Paragliding World Championship.

140 pilots from 39 different countries participated in this prestigious competition, while athletes from Obiliq achieved extraordinary results, reports Telegraph.


Fanol Shala ranked among the top 10 best pilots in the world, taking ninth place, while Migjen Shala finished the race in thirteenth place.



In the women's category, Lisjeta Thaqi ranked third in the world, demonstrating excellent performance and high professionalism. Also, Lejla Boshnjaku was the only judge from Kosovo to participate in this international championship.

Mayor Gashi highly praised these achievements, emphasizing that with these results, the "Kastrioti Eagles" Aeronautical Club ranks with three pilots among the 20 best in the world.

He said that these successes are a great honor for the city of Obiliq and for all of Kosovo, adding that the municipality will continue to support sports talents who represent the country with dignity in the international arena. /Telegrafi/
