Last week, 1,306 cases of influenza/flu-like illness were reported in Macedonia, which is 12.8 percent less than the previous week. The number of people reported this week compared to the sixth week of the previous season decreased by 54.7 percent, and compared to the number for the sixth week of the typical epidemic curve, it decreased by 46.7 percent.

"Regarding the age distribution, 715 people are aged 15 to 64, 228 are children aged 5 to 14, 184 – children aged 0 to 4 and 179 are people over 65. The highest incidence was recorded in children aged 0 to 4", informs the Institute of Public Health (ISHP).


In the 2025/2026 season, the total number of cases of influenza/influenza-like illness is 12,721. Compared to the same period last season, the number of reported cases has increased by 9.5 percent, and compared to the pattern of the last 15 seasons, a decrease of 13.6 percent has been recorded.

As stated in the IPH report, last year in October 338 cases were registered, in November – 438 cases, in December there were 1.324 cases, in January there were more – 9.135 cases, and in February there were 1.306 cases of influenza.

The Public Health Institute informs that as of the sixth week, a total of 79.110 people in Macedonia have been vaccinated with free or commercial vaccines.
