The new Volkswagen sedan – what would the European brand Jetta look like?

An epic battle is taking place in the Chinese market – competition is extremely fierce, so the need for new models is high.

Volkswagen sells a range of models in this country, which are designed specifically for the local market – if we can call a country with over a billion inhabitants “local”.

Recently, photos of the Lavida Pro model have been released, a refreshed version of the base Lavida, which is a compact sedan.

We could call it "Chinese Life", even though that model is no longer produced for the European market.

The Lavida Pro, developed through a joint collaboration between the Chinese company SAIC and Volkswagen, resembles the European Volkswagen Passat from the front, while the rear follows the now classic Volkswagen style with lights connected between them.

The Lavida Pro is 4720 mm long and will be offered only with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Its power is 109 horsepower (81 kW), it drives the front wheels, and uses a seven-speed automatic transmission.

No photos of the car's interior have been released yet, but it is expected to have a classic design with a digital dashboard, multimedia system and air conditioning controls located below it. /Telegraph/
