The name of the player Guardiola dreams of transferring to Man City is revealed

For Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz is a dream replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.

The 33-year-old Belgian's contract with the Premier League champions expires after the 2024/25 season, so the club's coach is looking for players who can replace him in the long term.

Manchester City had already shown interest in the 21-year-old German in January, but Bayer Leverkusen made it clear that a mid-season transfer was not an option, while the player's high price tag was another significant obstacle.

Despite rumors about his future, Florian is negotiating with the German club for a new contract, which is expected to increase his salary by around two million euros (from eight to ten).

According to Transfermarkt, his current deal runs until the end of June 2027. The player is valued at 140 million euros by the portal.

Real Madrid is also in the running for Wirtz, but would hardly agree to pay this amount, while Man City would have no problem. /Telegraph/
