Elbasan police have solved the murder of 43-year-old businessman Edmond Mëhalla and have announced a search for the two suspected perpetrators of the incident, Marselo Arani from Elbasan and Armando Kola from Laçi.
An official statement announced that two citizens suspected of being the perpetrators of the murder have been identified and wanted, while one of the accomplices has been arrested.
"Citizens Marcelo Arani, 32 years old, resident of Elbasan, while he was under the security measure "House arrest" for another criminal offense, as well as Armando Kola, 35 years old, resident of Laç (both suspected of being the perpetrators of the murder), were declared wanted for the criminal offenses "Premeditated murder", committed in collaboration, "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Removal of a prisoner from the place of residence"," the police announced.
Business partner Xhino Ago, 32 years old, resident of Elbasan (suspected as an accomplice), was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated murder", committed in collaboration, and "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", as well as fuel guard Kujtim Pisha, 52 years old, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".
The investigative actions revealed that the vehicle used by the perpetrators is owned by 32-year-old Ghino Ago, who lent it for use to 32-year-old Marcelo Arani, who is suspected of being one of the perpetrators of the murder.
During the investigation, the vehicle used by the perpetrators and the firearm used in the incident were found burned.
Also, vehicle purchase documents, 3 cell phones and 2 DVRs were seized.
As part of the police operation codenamed "Strike", important evidence was found that led to the unraveling of the incident.
Also, during the operation, the mechanism of the incident was revealed, documented with several film footage.
The special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues intensive investigative actions to identify and capture other persons involved in this event.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan for further action," the police announced. /Euronews/
