After the conclusion of the hearing against the six suspects for the murder of Kosovo Police Sergeant, Muhamed Lika, lawyer Musa Kongjeli, in his capacity as the official defense attorney of the arrested Rilind Murati, stated that his client has no connection to this criminal offense.
"According to the prosecution, they are complicit, it is suspected that they committed the criminal offense of complicity in aggravated murder... The prosecution so far, with the evidence it has provided so far, has based itself on material evidence. It is under investigation. It is collecting other evidence... I, as Rilindi's defense attorney, based on the evidence we have so far, consider that my client is not involved in this criminal offense at all."
"…So the prosecution claims that he was one of the members of the group that, in collaboration with other members, planned and prepared the criminal offense. My client categorically denies having anything to do with, or being involved in any way in this event. He says that from 10:00 in the evening until 03:00 in the morning he was with his fiancée…We consider that there was no group or planning at all for the organization of this murder", said Kongjeli.
According to the Prosecution, the suspects are under investigation for aggravated murder in complicity.
So far, the investigations have relied mainly on material evidence, while authorities are continuing to collect additional evidence.
The Basic Court in Ferizaj has considered the Prosecution's request to impose a one-month detention measure on the six arrested: RB, EL, Sh.K., RM, DG and V.Ç., who are suspected of involvement in planning and committing the murder.
Meanwhile, on Monday, a total of seven people were arrested in Kaçanik in connection with this case.
Yesterday, the Juvenile Department at the Basic Court of Ferizaj approved the Prosecution's request to order a one-month detention for minor RB, who is considered the main suspect in the murder of Sergeant Muhamed Lika.
Sergeant Muhamed Lika was killed on April 1 at the entrance to the building where he lived in Kaçanik, as he was returning from work. /Telegraph/
