The Municipality of Rahovec holds a solemn meeting dedicated to the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence

The Municipal Assembly of Rahovec today held a solemn meeting dedicated to the 17th anniversary of the Independence and Statehood of Kosovo.

The activities of February 17 in the Municipality of Rahovec began in the morning, at 09:00, where the mayor of this municipality, Smajl Latifi, received guests, at 10:00, to continue with homage at the martyrs' cemetery and at 11:00 a solemn session was held, to continue with other activities during the day.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Arbër Zenuni, at the beginning of the session asked those present for a minute of silence in honor of the war, blood, and sacrifice of those who took at least one step on the paths of freedom, which we enjoy today.

In his speech, President Lafiti thanked and honored the families of martyrs, fellow soldiers, institutional responsibilities, war veterans, activists of the national cause, citizens of all walks of life, all those who continue their contribution to strengthening freedom and strengthening the institutions of our democratic, sovereign and independent state.

"Independence is the result of the sacrifice and great efforts of our people, of the KLA war and the support of our allies. Kosovo is a free and democratic state, but challenges remain: strengthening institutions, economic development and protecting sovereignty are daily tasks. With work and unity, we will move the country forward." - said the mayor of Rahovec, Smajl Latifi, in his speech.
