Lipjan Municipality builds road on private property, residents file lawsuit in court

The municipality of Lipjan has paved the “Bashkim Krasniqi” road near the city center, but in some cases the road has also been extended into private spaces. Residents have said that they have already initiated a lawsuit in court, as the municipality had called the Kosovo Police during the paving in order to prevent residents from obstructing the process.
The residents said that the asphalting of the road on private properties was done without their consent, so this was the reason for initiating the lawsuit.
In some cases, the asphalting of the road has been provided up to the entrance of the house, so residents have said that they are at risk from vehicle traffic.
Bashkim Tahiri is one of the residents who has been most damaged in this neighborhood, as his luxurious home has now become uninhabitable due to the road that was built on his doorstep.
"We are concerned about this situation because according to the cadastral points, our property is about three meters above the asphalt and we have been in this neighborhood for many years before the war. My house must be completely demolished because we cannot live with this risk since cars can be parked on the doorstep," said Tahiri.
Another resident from the Serbian community, on condition of anonymity, told Telegraf that during the asphalting of the road, the municipality came with Kosovo Police units, even though there was no decision to give away our private property.
"The municipality has offered an amount of 15 thousand euros for a gold mine for asphalting the road, but we have not been interested because the asphalt was offered on the doorstep and for this reason we cannot live with this risk. We have initiated a lawsuit because the municipality did not want to talk to us but continued asphalting the road without any consent. I think this only happened because we are residents of the Serbian community. We have all the documents that the asphalt was introduced about three meters into private property and the municipality did not want to listen to our concerns. We will take this process to the end and I believe that we have the support of the justice authorities, even though we are residents of the Serbian community," said this resident, whose identity is known to the editorial staff of the Telegraph.
On the other hand, the municipality of Lipjan has not responded to Telegraf's questions regarding this issue for two days. /Telegraf/
