The Municipality of Kamenica held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank Group, where projects for generating electricity from renewable sources, specifically from the sun and wind, were discussed.

At this meeting, the Director of Urbanism, Uran Berisha, together with the Director of Economic Development, Edon Dërmaku, and the official of this directorate, Qëndresa Kastrati, hosted the representatives of the World Bank, Kerstin Schopohl and Alban Imeri.


The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the role of the Municipality of Kamenica in the procedures for granting municipal permits and allocating land for the implementation of renewable energy projects. The discussions also focused on municipal development plans and the possibilities for making municipal plots available to potential investors.

The Director of Urban Planning, Uran Berisha, presented the Municipal Development Plan, highlighting the existing capacities for the use of municipal properties for energy projects. He announced that the Municipality of Kamenica has considerable potential for the use of wind and solar energy.

Meanwhile, the Director of Economic Development, Edon Dërmaku, highlighted the importance of electricity generation projects, noting the interest of several potential investors who have submitted requests for the development of solar projects. According to him, these projects should be implemented in accordance with the Municipal Development Plan.

For her part, the World Bank Group representative, Kerstin Schopohl, stressed the importance of making plots available to private investors for the purpose of developing energy projects. She emphasized that creating opportunities for the granting of properties outside the plots included in the Development Plan would enable benefits for the municipality and citizens from energy generation projects.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and discussions on further steps, with the aim of utilizing energy projects for the benefit of the citizens of the Municipality of Kamenica. /Telegrafi/
