After the arrest of the director of the Directorate of Inspection in the Municipality of Prishtina, Xhelal Sveçlë, the municipality of Pristina reacted.
In a press release sent by the municipality of Pristina, it is said that this arrest is an attempt to hinder his work.
"The municipality of Pristina is outraged by this arbitrary arrest of a selective justice, orchestrated by politics. the Director of Inspection is being arrested, from the Directorate which has banned all constructions without permission in the Municipality of Pristina and moreover has managed to establish order in other areas so that Pristina can start functioning as a normal city. The arrest of Sveçla is an attempt to hinder his work, governance in the Municipality of Pristina, by circles of both parties in the central government, which have been blocking the Municipal Assembly of Pristina for some time now", the communique of the municipality states.
The Municipality of Pristina demands the immediate release of Xhelal Sveçla, Salih Zyba, as well as all other unjustly arrested persons and the cessation of political persecution against them.
