Members of Serbia's Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ) along with members of the Gendarmerie of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, displayed a number of interesting emblems.

Yesterday's police presence by the RS MUP was undoubtedly intended to send a message and intimidate members of the state police and security agencies.

There are a large number of details that point to the sending of such a message, where such an act could have tragic consequences, reports the Telegraph.

Namely, while standing near the ramp and gate of the RS Government building in East Sarajevo, a Klix.ba photojournalist was approached by a member of the Gendarmerie who was carrying an assault rifle without the safety catch on it.

Such an act is considered preparation for the use of firearms or as a form of ignorance while using firearms.

To appear more convincing to journalists leaving the scene, the aforementioned Gendarmerie member's fire regulator was set to burst mode.

Also, the same member was seen wearing an emblem with the mark of Marvel's anti-hero "Punisher".

What should be noted is that such symbols are often and willingly used as a protective symbol of paramilitary formations or members of criminal organizations.

The Punisher's white skull signifies the use of force and violence to fulfill justice outside and above the law, which is not a good message for a police organization at all.

As an additional way to complement the overall symbolism, some members of the Gendarmerie wore Serbian flags on their helmets, while members of the SAJ had Serbian army emblems on their backs.

The overall symbolism had a stronger impression because SAJ members went out into the field without masks, which is unusual for a police unit of this rank.

Otherwise, special units intended for anti-terrorist combat usually move in camouflage to protect their identity. /Telegraph/
