Mechanical ventilator patented – invention of UP professor Arbnor Pajaziti

The Industrial Property Agency of the Republic of Kosovo has approved and registered the patent "Mechanical Ventilator with Reversible Regulation Connection", an invention of Professor Arbnor Pajaziti from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pristina.
This innovative device, designed to provide advanced control of the ventilation process, represents an important technological step and combines the fields of mechatronics, medicine and industry. The device can be used in environments where precise monitoring and regulation of mechanical ventilation is required.
Engineer Petrit Abdyli, a master's degree holder at the same faculty, also contributed to its development. The patent application was filed in February 2024, and it will be valid until February 2, 2044.
The idea for building this mechanical ventilator was developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, when there was a worldwide shortage of medical equipment for assisted breathing. The project was funded by the European Union and the Rectorate of the University of Pristina, at a time when teaching was conducted online and increasing technological capacities was essential.
The new patent proves that the University of Pristina and its academic units are keeping pace with modern technological developments and are contributing with concrete projects to scientific innovation.
Professor Pajaziti's invention is considered one of the most important achievements of 2024 in the field of engineering and technology in Kosovo.
