The Mayor of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, received in an official meeting the Mayor of Tetovo, Bilall Kasami, who is visiting Gjilan. The visit began with a tribute at the Hill of Martyrs, where both mayors honored the sacrifice of those who fell for freedom.

"We started the visit with a tribute to the Hill of Martyrs, a moment of reflection for those who left us a legacy of freedom and resistance," declared Mayor Hyseni, describing the visit as a friendly and institutional meeting with his counterpart from Tetovo.


After the tributes, Hyseni and Kasami, along with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, watched the Conference League match between Drita of Gjilan and Shkëndija of Tetovo, an Albanian derby that ended with Drita's victory, reports Telegraph.

"We happily exchanged the jerseys of our two teams, wishing them to show high sporting values ​​on the field. Together we unanimously agreed that football unites us," said Hyseni.

He added that Drita's victory is an important step towards qualification, while also praising Shkëndija for their fair play.

"Congratulations to the boys for the fantastic performance," said the mayor of Gjilan.

On the other hand, the mayor of Tetovo, Bilall Kasami, called the visit to Gjilan special and thanked Hysen for the hospitality.

"I congratulated Mayor Hyseni on his re-election as head of Gjilan. We talked about the cooperation between our two cities, underlining the commitment to deepening and expanding joint projects," Kasami declared.

He said that the exchange of Shkëndija and Drita jerseys, as well as the joint watching of the match with Prime Minister Kurti, was a symbolic moment of friendship and cooperation between the two municipalities.

Kasami also underlined the importance of paying homage at the Martyrs' Memorial in Gjilan:

"We remembered and honored the sacrifice of thousands of Albanians for the freedom and independence of Kosovo. Glory."
